Celebrate ethical consumption and global solidarity by joining the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand in their mission to promote fair and sustainable trade practices. We are currently seeking passionate volunteers to fill various roles and make a meaningful impact in our community across Australia.

  • Student Ambassadors: Become a Student Ambassador and ignite the spark of fair trade advocacy among students and youth. As a Student Ambassador, you’ll organise events, festivals, and networking opportunities to raise awareness and promote fair trade. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to establish fair trade groups within schools and universities, fostering a culture of ethical consumption among future leaders. This opportunity is open in all States in Australia.
  • Education Coordinator: Are you passionate about education? Join us as an Education Coordinator and play a crucial role in disseminating information about fair trade. You’ll develop informational toolkits, curate educational resources, and collaborate with our team to spread awareness through studies, films, and other mediums.
  • Education Volunteers: Education Volunteers will work alongside the Education Coordinator to deliver impactful education programs in schools and communities.
  • Event Planning: If event planning is your forte, consider becoming an Event Coordinator. You’ll assist in designing and executing engaging fair trade events, both online and in person, during key dates such as Fair Trade Fortnight. Your creativity and organisational skills will help us create memorable experiences that amplify the fair trade message.
  • Other Volunteers: We welcome volunteers with diverse skills and interests. If you have a talent or expertise you’d like to contribute, don’t hesitate to let us know. From graphic design to social media management, fundraising to research, there are countless ways to get involved and make a difference. Your unique skills and passions can help drive our mission forward and create lasting change in the fair trade movement. Volunteering Conditions:

  • Minimum Commitment: Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 6 months to support the organisation, ensuring continuity and effectiveness in their role.
  • Meeting Attendance: Volunteers are required to attend meetings planned by the specific coordinator, participating actively and contributing to discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Adherence to Code of Conduct: Volunteers must adhere to the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand (FTAANZ) code of conduct, upholding ethical standards and demonstrating respect, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions and activities.
  • Communication: Volunteers are expected to maintain open and transparent communication with coordinators, fellow volunteers, and other stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress, challenges, and any changes in availability or circumstances.
  • Commitment to Mission: Volunteers should align with the mission, values, and goals of FTAANZ, dedicating their time and efforts to advancing fair and sustainable trade practices and promoting social justice.
  • Responsibility and Accountability: Volunteers are responsible for fulfilling their assigned tasks and commitments in a timely manner, demonstrating accountability for their actions and decisions. 
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Volunteers should collaborate effectively with other team members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and teamwork is prioritised.
  • Feedback and Evaluation: Volunteers may receive feedback and evaluations from coordinators or supervisors to support their growth and development in their role, fostering continuous improvement and excellence in volunteer performance.
